About the Word to PDF
This tool turns a Word .docx document into an A4 PDF without installing anything. It works in three steps. First the mammoth library reads the document’s content: headings, paragraphs, bold and italic text, bulleted and numbered lists, tables, links and embedded pictures. That content is laid out as a web page with a clean, standard style (a sans-serif font at 12 pt with even margins). Finally each A4 page of that layout is captured as an image and placed into the PDF. Page breaks are moved to a blank gap between lines wherever possible, so lines of text are not cut in half.
Because of that design you should know what you get. The PDF’s pages are pictures of your document, so the text in it cannot be selected, searched or copied, and screen readers cannot read it. And the look is not a copy of your Word layout: fonts, font sizes you set, colours, underlining, centred or right-aligned text, headers, footers, page numbers, columns and text boxes are not carried over. If you need an exact, text-based PDF, use File > Save As > PDF (or Export) in Microsoft Word, LibreOffice or Google Docs instead.
This converter is useful when you do not have a word processor at hand and need a quick, readable PDF of a simple document such as a letter, a CV draft or meeting notes, for example to attach to an email or upload to a form that only accepts PDF. Sensible page breaks
Each page break is placed in a blank gap near the bottom of the page where one exists, with a 15 mm margin at the top and bottom of every page.

Limitations
- The PDF pages are images: text cannot be selected, searched or copied, and the file is not accessible to screen readers.
- Fonts, colours, underlining, text alignment, headers, footers, page numbers, columns and text boxes are not kept; a simple standard style is used instead.
- Only .docx files work. Older .doc files, .odt and .rtf must be saved as .docx first.
- Output is always A4 portrait. Images make the PDF larger than a text-based PDF of the same document.
Privacy
The document is read and converted by JavaScript in your browser; neither the Word file nor the PDF is uploaded to FlexyPdf’s servers.
Frequently asked questions
Why can’t I select or copy text in the PDF?
Each page is stored as a picture of the rendered document. That makes the converter work entirely in the browser, but the text is no longer text. For a searchable PDF, export it from Word, LibreOffice Writer or Google Docs with their built-in PDF option.
Why does my document look different from Word?
Only the structure is converted: headings, lists, tables, emphasis and pictures. Your own fonts, colours, alignment, spacing and headers or footers are replaced by one standard style, and the text flows onto A4 pages with new page breaks.
Can I convert an old .doc file?
No, the reader only understands the newer .docx format. Open the .doc in a word processor and save it as .docx (Word Document), then convert that file.
Are images and tables included?
Yes. Pictures embedded in the document are placed in line with the text, scaled to fit the page width, and tables get simple grey borders. Table colours and border styles from Word are not reproduced.
