Time Zone Converter
Pick a date, time and time zone and see the same moment in up to eight other zones. It uses your browser's IANA time-zone data, so daylight saving time is applied.

About the Timezone Converter
Choose a source time zone, a date and a time, and the same moment is shown in other zones. The page starts at the current time in India (IST, UTC+05:30) and compares it with UTC, London, New York and Tokyo. For example, 3:00 PM IST on 2 October 2026 is 9:30 AM UTC, 10:30 AM in London and 5:30 AM in New York. You can compare up to eight zones and remove any of them with the bin icon.
Daylight saving time is where converting by hand goes wrong. New York is UTC−05:00 in winter and UTC−04:00 in summer, London switches between GMT and BST, and India does not change its clocks at all. Instead of fixed offsets, the converter asks your browser's time-zone database (the IANA tz data) which offset applies on the date you picked, and shows that offset next to every result. It also flags the two awkward cases: a time that does not exist because clocks jump forward, such as 2:30 AM on the spring changeover day in New York, is moved forward by the gap, and a time that happens twice when clocks go back uses the first occurrence.
Common zones are listed first with city names. In current versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari, the full list of IANA zones follows, including less common offsets such as Asia/Kathmandu (UTC+05:45). Typical uses are scheduling a call between offices, checking when an overseas webinar starts for you, or reading a UTC timestamp from a server log. To count down to the moment itself, use the Countdown Timer.
How to use the Timezone Converter
- 1
Pick the source time zone
Choose where the time you know applies, for example India – Kolkata (IST) or a zone from the full IANA list.
- 2
Set the date and time
Use the Date and Time fields. "Set to now" fills in the current time in the source zone.
- 3
Read the converted times
Each zone shows the time, the date and its UTC offset on that date, so you can see when a result falls on the previous or next day.
- 4
Add or remove zones
Pick a zone under "Add timezone to compare" and press Add (up to eight). Use the bin icon to remove one.
- 5
Copy a result
The copy icon on each row copies a line such as "05:30 AM, Fri, Oct 2, 2026 (New York (Eastern), UTC−04:00)". On larger screens the icons appear when you hover over a row.
What it can do
Daylight saving time applied
Offsets come from IANA time-zone data for the exact date, not from a fixed table.
Warnings for skipped and repeated times
You are told when a time falls in the gap or the overlap of a clock change, and how it was resolved.
Every IANA zone
Several hundred zones are available in browsers that expose the full list, alongside 22 common zones with readable names.
Half-hour and 45-minute offsets
Zones such as India (UTC+05:30), Nepal (UTC+05:45) and Newfoundland (UTC−02:30 in summer) are shown correctly.
Limitations
- Results are only as current as the time-zone data in your browser and operating system. Countries sometimes change their rules at short notice, so keep your browser updated.
- Times are shown in 12-hour format with AM and PM; there is no 24-hour option.
- Your list of zones is not saved and resets when you reload the page.
- There is no meeting-planner grid or working-hours overlap view; convert one time at a time.
- Older browsers without Intl.supportedValuesOf show only the 22 common zones.
Privacy
Conversions use the time-zone data built into your browser; the dates, times and zones you choose are not sent to FlexyPdf or anyone else.
Frequently asked questions
What is the time difference between IST and New York?
India stays at UTC+05:30 all year. New York is UTC−05:00 (EST) in winter, 10 hours 30 minutes behind India, and UTC−04:00 (EDT) from the second Sunday in March to the first Sunday in November, 9 hours 30 minutes behind. Pick your date and the tool applies the right one.
Does the converter handle daylight saving time?
Yes. For every zone it looks up the offset in force at that exact moment, using the IANA data in your browser, and shows it next to the result, for example UTC+01:00 for London in summer.
What happens if I enter a time that does not exist?
On the day clocks go forward, an hour is skipped. If you pick a time in that hour, a yellow note explains this and the results show the moment after the jump, so 2:30 AM in New York is treated as 3:30 AM EDT.
Why is India listed as Asia/Kolkata?
The IANA database names each zone after a representative city. Asia/Kolkata covers all of India, which uses a single time zone, IST.
Is UTC the same as GMT?
For reading a clock, yes: both are UTC+00:00. The difference matters for the UK, whose clocks show GMT in winter but BST (UTC+01:00) in summer, while UTC never changes.
